From Solange to Pat Sajak, Rae Sremmurd had everyone singing and dancing along to their platinum singles, “No Flex Zone” and “No Type.”
Fresh off the release of their debut album SremmLife, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 5, the Mississippi duo—brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy—sat down with Rap-Up TV before their show at The Roxy in West Hollywood to discuss the definition of SremmLife, Nicki Minaj’s co-sign, and a potential collaboration with Rihanna.
The pop superstar tweeted the lyrics to “No Type,” and it looks like there may even be a Rihanna and Rae Sremmurd record on RiRi’s upcoming eighth album.

“That would bless everybody’s ears right there,” said Swae Lee, who even suggested the hashtag #RaeAndRih. “It’s coming too.”
The duo also dropped hints about a Super Bowl weekend performance with Rihanna, where they could debut the track. “Check us out at the Super Bowl,” said Jimmy, while Swae added, “Super Bowl. Hint hint.”
“It’s gon’ be screaming. It’s gon’ be bottles popping. It’s gon’ be Bud Light Platinum drinks. … And we’ll be kissing.”
Last year, Rihanna teased snippets of two songs from R8 including one titled “Kiss It Better” and a Mike WiLL Made-It-produced track.
While we await a Rihanna collabo, they have already worked with Nicki Minaj on the remix to “No Flex Zone” and “Throw Sum Mo.” They plan to shoot a video for the latter and shared their crazy concept.
“I’ma be passed out, on the floor, done collapsed ’cause I seen Nicki Minaj,” said Jimmy.
The rap diva has voiced her support for the duo, which means they can do just about anything. “If Nicki Minaj supports you…you can run for president,” said Jimmy.
So what can we expect next from Rae Sremmurd? “More doobies and more jacuzzis,” said Swae, while Jimmy chimed in, “More pot, why not?”
