Rap-Up.com || Alicia Keys Will Wait for ‘Freedom’

The delayed album epidemic has taken Alicia Keys as its latest victim. The “Superwoman’s” new album has been pushed back two weeks.

Keys had planned to release her fourth studio album The Element of Freedom on December 1 to coincide with World AIDS Day. It is now due two weeks later on December 15 and will face off against Lil Wayne’s Rebirth, the Young Money compilation, and Mary J. Blige’s Stronger. The R&B singer attributed the delay to recording more material for the project. “Luv having the freedom to create beautiful music, so I’m pushing the album back to DEC 15th,” she tweeted. “So many more amazing songs!!!”

Meanwhile, her first single “Doesn’t Mean Anything” is currently No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 146 on iTunes. A second single, “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart,” is scheduled to impact in the coming weeks.

Never thought I’d see the day.

I knew her single was recycled and everything, but I figured people would just gobble it up like macncheese at Thanksgiving.

I’m glad people didn’t; now she can come harder. Does this mean that “DMA” was the best thing on the album?..hope not. Regardless, I’m getting the album.

I did see that coming, she really needs to come back harder ! cause Rihanna will be back by the end of november, Lady GaGa is everywhere, as Beyonce, Mariah & Whitney will obviously keep on promoting, lack of space for Keys & Mary J., too bad cause they’re more talented than some hoes out there

DMA was just a bad single choice, too bland..I have hope for the 2nd single..sounds hot. I will be buying the album, she never disappoints.

They pushed the album back because they didn’t think that people would notice that Doesen’t REally Matter is Noone Part2 only weaker.

The song doesn’t come hard at all and the video sucked! Even Whintey’s ‘Million Dollar Bill’ video looked better and song came harder…..>don’t hate me, lol! I hate to admit but she has some bangers on her cd, ‘For the Lovers’ is my jam!

Seriously, if that song is now #146 on Itunes then it is doing worse than I thought, last week, it was #123- Hopes she comes harder. We are in a recession and i don’t have money to waste on albums that are not very good, not just good.

Mary is another one I’m not feeling those 2 songs, they need to go back to the drawing board-

Alicia is a true musician who writes, composes, produces and arranges her own music. She has a signature style and message in her music; hence, the song, ” Doesn’t Mean Anything”. It is very different from “No One” but has the same message that love is important.
