Rap-Up.com || Wyclef Jean Shot in Hand in Haiti

Wyclef Jean has been released from the hospital after being shot in the hand in his native Haiti.

The former Fugees member was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand, a spokesman for Jean tells The Associated Press.

The incident occurred after 11 p.m. Saturday in the city of Delmas, near Port-au-Prince, when armed gunmen reportedly opened fire on Jean’s vehicle. His fellow Fugees member Pras and brother Samuel confirmed the reports.

“Yes they shot Wyclef and he’s in the hospital and he’ll be fine. They just shot his hand,” tweeted Pras. “Everyone can relax Wyclef is fine… They can’t stop us not one bullet or a machine gun!!!!!!!”

The shooting comes on the eve of the presidential elections in Haiti. Jean is supporting fellow Haitian musician Michel Martelly.

Wyclef Jean is a puppet. A tool to use and amuse by foreign people in the U.S.

He look his own Haitian people on a marginalized way. The way he got bad treated, look down in U.S. society, so does he look He looks Haitian people like himself- that he may think they impress by people from other countries.

He probably thinks that people in Haiti hate him because he has Diaspora money.

I’m still not over the fact that he really wanted to canidate for the present election some month ago. That was unbelievable arrogant and just wrong. First world wyclef jean is skilled enough to be the present of Haiti? Because of which qualification exaclty? He is rich? He is famous? yeah, right! That’s what a president in Haiti needs,…Haiti is not Northamerica.

MAYBE HAITI DON’T WANT YOUR HELP, WYCLEF!!! just a quess…

@Vickthur, well, I am not northamerican so I had some geography classes. Geographically the Caribbean is defined as the space BETWEEN North-and Southamerica,….whatever.

….but this topic is about Wyclef Jean’s WHITENESS and not about geography….

ehh whatever, he put himself into this situation. I have to agree with Marlon. He’s not qualified to be a president, but I do think he has good intentions. He should be supporting someone that is better qualified though.

Maybe this is a sign that he needs to leave Haiti alone, he loves to be in the spotlight seeming to “help”. Haiti doesn’t need a music artist to run their country how arrogant.
