Melanie Fiona bleeds love on the understated record “4 A.M.” off her sophomore album The MF Life, due October 25. The heartbroken songbird sings the blues while waiting for her man to return home.
“It’s 4 A.M. and my lover won’t answer/ He’s probably somewhere with a dancer/ Sippin’ champagne while I’m in his bed,” she coos over the Rico Love and Earl & E production, which showcases a more progressive R&B sound.
This is nice! It’s something different that she hasn’t really done before. I am really hoping that her album sticks to the October 25th release date and doesn’t get pushed back again.
This song is getting rave reviews across the board. Let’s hope this can hit the top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Melanie Fiona is in a lane of her own IMO. I love this woman.
I love Melanie, but c’mon, this sounds like a reject off Kelly Rowland’s wack ass album! This is way off from Melanie’s usual sound. I hope she ain’t trying to get that mainstream love by doing these records. She needs to stick to her soulful music!

Melanie you are gifted with a beautiful tone but you’ve allowed your vocal to be auto tuned like this?
Disappointed

The autontune isn’t even that much, it’s just used for effect, not to make her sound better, because we all know she doesn’t need it.
It record GOES SO HARD! Like a brand new Melanie. I hope she does big things with this record.
