New Music: Miguel – ‘Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview’ EP![]() Miguel won over new fans with his Art Dealer Chic micro EPs, and now he’s ready to give them the next chapter. The L.A. singer has announced plans (via SPIN) for his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream, which will be released in three parts. The first release, the three-song Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview, features the single “Adorn” as well as two new songs, “Don’t Look Back” and “Use Me,” and will be available on iTunes on July 31. The second three-song EP, Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview, will hit iTunes on September 11, while the final full-length album, simply titled Kaleidoscope Dream, will combine the two digital EPs with five new songs and is due in stores and online on October 2. “I believe dreams represent the purest form of fantasy we unleash through our subconscious,” said Miguel, who collaborated with producers Salaam Remi, Pop & Oak, and Jerry Wonda on the follow-up to his 2010 debut All I Want Is You. “They represent the truest freedom we can experience. Totally unrepressed and totally creative.” Stream the two new tracks off Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview below.

I love that Miguel isn’t afraid to push the envelope of RnB. It’s amazing what artists like him and Frank Ocean can do, and even more amazing that they are the creative force behind their art, and dont have to compromise. This is TRULY a great year for RnB. Usher. Chris Brown. Frank Ocean. And now Miguel.

@Slim, Not Usher in my opinion – his album isn’t classed as RnB its more Pop rubbish than Rnb.
At least Chris Brown’s had more RnB hits in it.

@Slim, Totally Agree. A great year for male RnB.
Chris Brown, Miguel, Usher, Luke James,Kevin McCall, Ro James, Ryan Leslie and Mateo are all stepping it up. To new levels.Making RnB exciting.
Proud of Miguel!

I love the second track! “Use Me” is thee best song thus far. Miguel and Frank Ocean are the avant-garde of r&b (or contemporary music).
Go Miguel!!!!!

Yo, the track “use me” is too amazing. And everyone wants to make babies to “the weekend.” Lol. He is too dope, maybe ahead of his time, along with frank ocean? I love it.

The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, Miguel are the leaders of new wave R&B cause they are pushing the boundries but still have the roots. Chris and Usher still make good R&B but can’t really be considered to be that anymore with them leaning towards more pop and dance music, with EDM. Melanie Fiona and Jhene Aiko are the new female leads.
