Bruno Mars Announces Sophomore Album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’

Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars rocketed to the top of the charts and spawned three hit singles with his 2010 debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans, and before the year is done, he will drop the highly-anticipated follow-up.

Billboard has revealed that the album will be titled Unorthodox Jukebox and arrive on December 11 via Elektra Records.

The first single, “Locked Out of Heaven,” is set to premiere October 1 at 7 p.m. EST. A video, directed by Cameron Duddy, is already in production.

“This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want,” Mars told the magazine. “This album represents my freedom.”

The project includes contributions from Mark Ronson, Diplo, Jeff Bhasker, Emile Haynie, Supa Dups, and the Smeezingtons, who executive-produced and co-wrote Unorthodox Jukebox.

Here’s a perfect example of an artist who is real and cares about his music, he worked hard for more than a year on the album and locked himself in the studio, I love the album’s title it’s so unique, I can’t wait to hear his lead single this Monday.

@Miles, If you’re not interested in his music, why waste your time commenting? Obviously everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but no one has heard any snippets yet & there haven’t been any leaks, so why don’t you give him the benefit of the doubt? I’ve written this in a previous post but compared to a lot of the ‘musicians’ that are written about on this site, Bruno’s a multi-instrumentalist, who has written and produced for several artists including Cee-Lo (e.g. Forget You), K’naan, Matisyahu, Brandy, Lloyd, Melanie Fiona, etc; and is a Grammy Award winning vocalist (who was once signed to Motown Records), so your opinion on his music doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s the real deal.

@Ririfan, Ha! The irony of a RIHANNA fan saying this is unbelievable! Not to mention, she’s one of the least respected ‘singers’ (and I use that term loosely!) ever.

@Miles, You clearly don’t dislike him that much, seeing as how you took the time to comment AFTER clicking on his post. Hypocrite.
