JAY-Z’s ‘4:44’ Tops Billboard 200 for Second Week

H-O-V stays on T-O-P.

JAY-Z’s 4:44 continues its dominance on the Billboard 200, spending its second week of eligibility in the No. 1 spot. In its third week out overall, after a one-week TIDAL exclusive, the critically-acclaimed LP moved 87,000 equivalent album units (61,000 traditional).

This is a milestone for Jigga. It marks his 25th overall week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and 14th No. 1 album, the most for any solo artist in the history of the chart. The only rapper with more time in the top slot has been Eminem, who’s spent 31 weeks at No. 1 with fewer albums.

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. — which has been certified double platinum — resides at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in its 14th week. The LP debuted at No. 1 back when it was released and continues its stronghold with 56,000 units sold this week.

French Montana’s Jungle Rules is this week’s highest debut, coming in at No. 3 with 52,000 units (16,000 traditional). This marks his highest placement on the list, beating out 2013’s Excuse My French, which peaked at No. 4.

Continuing on the chart, DJ Khaled’s Grateful stays strong at No. 4 (43,000 units), 21 Savage’s Issa Album dips 2-5 (40,000), Ed Sheeran’s ÷ falls 5-6 (34,000).

Elsewhere, Khalid’s American Teen hops back into the top 10 with its peak ranking at No. 9 after four months with 28,000 units. Rounding out the chart is Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, which continues shining at No. 10 with 28,000 units sold.
