M.I.A. and R. Kelly

M.I.A. and R. Kelly closed out the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on Sunday. The Sri Lankan star worked up a sweat during her high-energy set, performing “Paper Planes” and new songs off her upcoming album Matangi for the sweaty crowd at Union Park.

Following her electrifying show, R. Kelly tore up the stage in front of his hometown crowd. He opened with a choir for “Ignition (Remix)” before delivering a set full of hits, from “Bump n’ Grind” to “Happy People.”

“I’ve been at this 27 years,” said the R&B veteran. “27 fuckin’ years and y’all still feelin’ me.”

He was accompanied by a choir for the closing number “I Believe I Can Fly” as white dove balloons were released into the sky.
