Big Sean is opening up his heart in a big way this holiday season. After giving away turkeys for Thanksgiving, the Detroit rapper paid a special hometown visit to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in the Detroit Medical Center earlier this week.

The “Beware” hitmaker, along with his mother, Myra Anderson, spread some Christmas cheer, meeting with the young patients and their families and giving away toys and headphones.

“These kids are some of the nicest people I’ve met!” said a humbled Sean. “We are working on something special for them for the holidays from our Foundation. Remember to count your blessings. We all are blessed! Straight up!”

He also praised his mother, who is President of the Sean Anderson Foundation. “Love to my mom. I honestly wouldn’t do half of the cool things I do to give back to kids or people in need if it wasn’t for her teaching n telling me why it’s so important,” he said. “I truly have an awesome, caring mom… n that’s something a lot of people don’t have. I’m so happy she is my partner in the Sean Anderson Foundation.”
