Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Perform 'White Privilege II' on 'The Late Show'

  /  02.09.2016

While Beyoncé was staging her Black Lives Matter tribute “Formation” at the Super Bowl, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were spreading their own powerful message on “The Late Show.” The Seattle duo performed their politically-charged single “White Privilege II” for the first time on Monday’s show, but they didn’t come alone.

Jamila Woods, the song’s featured guest, delivered potent vocals with a message. “What we made, we made to set us free,” she sang.

Poets Nikkita Oliver and Danez Smith were also part of the performance, providing powerful and emotional lines of their own. “I am reminding myself that my black life matters too,” Oliver said onstage.

“White Privilege II” is set to appear on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ upcoming album This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, due Feb. 26.
