New Music: Dillon Francis feat. G-Eazy - 'Say Less'

  /  04.05.2017

Hot off his Step Brothers EP with Carnage, G-Eazy pops up on “Say Less,” an energetic collaboration with Dillon Francis.

The song’s bright, colorful, and dizzying lyric video features balloon smiley faces with human hands doing sign language. The balloon people dance, cook, and play thumb wars before ultimately popping themselves in the end.

Meanwhile, Young Gerald reps his beloved Bay Area. “Look baby, pass the Stella,” he raps. “Don’t spill on me, that’s Margiela / Got this Oakland game to tell her / Goddamn, she look familiar / Think we hooked up at Coachella.”

According to Francis, the collaboration was a long time coming. “G-Eazy and I had been talking about making a record for the past four years but our insane touring schedules never let us get in the studio together,” he said. “In the beginning of the year it finally worked out when we were both in L.A. One session turned into three and now we have our glorious song that we are so proud of.”

G-Eazy agreed and noted that “Say Less” helps bridge musical styles into one cohesive track. “Dillon’s been the homie forever and we’ve always talked about collaborating, so this song was inevitable,” he explained. “It’s basically the bridge that connects two worlds—it’s where we meet in the middle creatively. It’s a party track about meeting a girl at a music festival and finding love under the influence of multiple illicit substances. It’s about being straight to the point…say less means say no more.”

This is Francis’ first release on his IDGAFOS label and it will be followed by a string of shows from April 6 in Las Vegas through Sept. 8 in Sugar Creek, Miss.
