Bono and Jay-Z

Jay-Z and U2 are ready to head down under. Promoting giant Live Nation is celebrating the launch of its newest Australian branch with a five-date U2 360 tour of Australia featuring special guest Jay-Z. The Australia leg, which kicks off on November 25 at Auckland’s Mt. Smart Stadium, is a side venture from the rock band’s international tour, which currently sees them gigging their way through Europe.

The Australian dates, which will feature Hov as the opening act, will hit Melbourne (12/1), Brisbane (12/8), Sydney (12/13) and Perth (12/18). Tickets will go on sale on September 3, with 45% of ticket prices set below a bargain $89. U2.com subscribers can snatch up tickets for these high profile gigs ahead of the public on-sale date.

Before heading off to the other side of the world, Jay-Z will perform two co-headlining shows with Eminem, one in Em’s hometown Detroit and the other taking place at Yankee Stadium.
