Rihanna reached out a helping hand during the two-hour season premiere of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The pop star surprised volunteers from Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House, which provides shelter, support, and services to homeless female veterans, speaking with them about the hardships they endured after they returned from the military.

“What Barbara Marshall is doing and what you ladies are helping to do volunteering with her is amazing. Honestly, it really touched my heart,” said Rihanna backstage at one of her shows.

To show her support, she auctioned off concert tickets with all proceeds going to the Jubilee House. First Lady Michelle Obama also appeared on the episode to help build a home for Jubilee House founder and Navy veteran Barbara Marshall as she continues to fight to end homelessness among her fellow female veterans.
