Chief Keef

Interscope Records no longer has love for Sosa. Chief Keef has been dropped from the label.

The Chicago rapper confirmed the news in a text, which he shared on Twitter. “I been dropped for a week now,” he said before going on a rant about his former label.

“When Jimmy n Dre left that’s when I said fuck Interscope! Big Dick style. that’s what I signed up for not this new staff! Of WhiteHonkies!” he tweeted before deleting the comment.

According to AllHipHop, Interscope began to “subtly disassociate” itself from the 19-year-old following his many legal cases, from lawsuits to drug offenses. He’s been in and out of jail and rehab, and was involved in a March 2014 shootout in Chicago.

Chief Keef signed to Interscope in 2012 and in December released his debut Finally Rich. The album sold 50,000 copies in its first week and has moved around 200,000 units to date.

The project featured the Young Chop-produced single “Love Sosa” and the Lil Reese-assisted “I Don’t Like,” which spawned a remix from Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music.

Despite being dropped, Chief Keef still plans to release new music including the third installment in his Bang mixtape series. Just last week, he debuted a collaboration with Tyga called “Now & Later.”
