Pusha T: Kanye West's 'Swish' Is 'Phenomenal'

  /  12.02.2015

It looks like Kanye West’s Swish won’t arrive until next year—and Pusha T is not making the wait any easier.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the G.O.O.D. Music president gushed over the highly-anticipated album. “I haven’t worked on it at all, but everything I’ve heard is phenomenal and it has nothing to do with any of the other records that were released before,” said Push. “That’s all I can really say about it. He’s super meticulous about the messaging about his album but you guys are in for a treat.”

Just last month, DONDA creative director Virgil Abloh previewed a new Kanye song, “Fade” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone, during a DJ set in London.

But ‘Ye is in no rush to release the music. “I still just kept working and trying to find the language that I wanted to say on my album,” he recently told Big Boy on Real 92.3. “Just going in the lab every night. It’s soundin’ good, like a sonic painting. And it gets better and better every week.”

Before Kanye drops Swish, Pusha’s first order of business is his own album, Darkest Before Dawn, which arrives Dec. 18 featuring production from Timbaland, Diddy, and Mr. West. “There’s nothing low-key about it,” he told Rolling Stone. “I feel like the album is very aggressive and very abrasive. It jumps out at you. Lyrically, I’m always one for clarity and I don’t think people will miss anything.”

As for the long-rumored sequel to 2012’s Cruel Summer, Pusha hasn’t forgotten about it. “That’s definitely on my mood board. I’m totally on that and I’m going to make that happen. That is a goal of mine and I reach my goals.”
