Video: Azealia Banks - 'Count Contessa'

Azealia Banks hits the beach and wonders if she’ll ever find true love in the video for “Count Contessa,” the synth-powered single off her 2014 debut Broke With Expensive Taste.

Directed by Rony Alwin, the clip kicks off with the “212” rapper walking a pig along the shoreline, encountering a fortune teller (played by Banks) and learning that she will one day find her romantic match. As the track kicks in, the Harlem native raps along to the song at night in a bathing suit, cozying up to a female co-star and raising up flames.

The visuals were premiered on Fun-Mag, which also posted a behind-the-scenes look at Banks’ life. “I’ve been working on a full body of work, aka an album, since I was 17 years old. Now, all sorts of things like life and circumstance have happened since then,” she says, explaining her business decisions over the past few years and taking cameras into the studio to document part of recording BWET.
