Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Unlikely to Be Prosecuted for Taylor Swift Phone Call

  /  07.19.2016

It looks like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West won’t be criminally prosecuted for the release of Yeezy’s taped conversation with Taylor Swift over the lyrics to “Famous.”

Swift’s lawyers reportedly threatened legal action after Kardashian posted the video on Snapchat. However, TMZ reports that there is no basis for legal ramifications. That’s because “confidential communication” doesn’t include convos that “may be overheard.”

The report adds that the full tape shows Swift knew she was being overheard by others, including Rick Rubin and the film crew, who spoke while the call took place.

It seems the #KimExposedTaylorParty continues. Over the weekend, that hashtag started trending after Kim posted the now infamous video of West’s phone conversation with Taylor on Snapchat. In it, West recites this rhyme: “For all my Southside ni**as that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

During the talk, Swift appears to approve and encourage those lyrics, adding that she thinks they are “tongue in cheek.” Later, however, she claimed that she had no prior knowledge of the song’s lyrics and that she was offended by them.

In her response to the taped convo’s dissemination, Swift replies: “Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.”
