Video: T.I. - 'War Zone'

  /  09.08.2016

T.I. shows that we’re living in a “War Zone” in his latest video for the potent single off his upcoming EP Us or Else.

Unleashed via TIDAL, the Laurel Richardson-directed clip depicts the deaths of Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, and Eric Garner if each of them had been a white person, killed by a police officer who was black.

“They pull you over ask you where your license at,” Tip rhymes on the track. “Be careful reaching for it, you know you can die for that.”

Dedicated to Rice, Castile, and Garner, as well as “everyone who has lost their lives to the hands of unlawful law enforcement,” the thought-provoking clip ends with a message from Jane Elliot’s famous demonstration about race.

“If you white folks want to be treated the way blacks are in this society, stand,” says Elliot. “Nobody is standing here. That says very plainly that you know what’s happening. You know you don’t want it for you. I want to know why you are so willing to accept it or to allow it to happen for others.”

The thought-provoking concept follows the protest-themed video for “We Will Not.” Both songs are set to appear on the politically-charged EP Us or Else.
