Common and BJ the Chicago Kid Perform 'Black America Again' on 'Fallon'

  /  10.28.2016

Here we go, here, here we go again. Common tapped BJ the Chicago Kid, The Roots, and DJ Dummy for a powerful performance of “Black America Again” on “The Tonight Show.”

Delivering a chilling rendition of the title track from his forthcoming album, Common sported a hoodie while rapping about how Trayvon Martin “will never get to be an older man.”

Though Stevie Wonder wasn’t able to make it, BJ the Chicago Kid filled in. “We are rewriting the black American story,” sings BJ, who appears on “The Day the Women Took Over” off Black America Again.

While the duo was surrounded by band members and singers throughout the performance, the finale was a chilling and silent moment with Common staring directly at the camera.
