Watch Chance the Rapper Perform on 'SNL'

  /  12.17.2016

Lil Chano does it again. After making his “SNL” debut one year ago, Chance the Rapper returned to 30 Rock as musical guest on the final episode of 2016.

Following an intro from host Casey Affleck, the Chicago rapper performed “Finish Line” off his critically-acclaimed album Coloring Book, which earned him seven Grammy nominations. Donning his trademark overalls and a “Chance 3” cap, he took it to church with the gospel-inspired song while rapper/poet Noname delivered her spoken-word verse. While Chance danced along, a choir joined him for the rousing finale.

For his second performance of the night, Chance brought “Same Drugs” to life. While seated at a white piano and backed by violinists and a choir, he spread his uplifting message before Francis of Francis and the Lights took over on the keys. As snow fell down on stage, Chance capped it all off on a magical note.

“Don’t forget the happy thoughts. All you need is happy thoughts,” he said.

Check out his upbeat set below.

Not only did Lil Chano hit the stage, he also participated in a parody of Run-D.M.C.’s “Christmas in Hollis” alongside “SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson. Dressed as the legendary rap group, they rapped about President Obama’s last Christmas in the White House.

“So go nuts before the North Pole disappears ’cause it’s the last Christmas before Trump next year.”

Plus, look for a cameo from Run-D.M.C.’s own Darryl McDaniels.
