Police Called to Paula Patton's Home After Robin Thicke Custody Dispute

  /  01.14.2017

Nearly three years after their high-profile divorce, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are in a contentious custody battle over their six-year-old son, Julian. Now, that fight includes a video involving the police.

On Friday (Jan. 13), Thicke brought sheriff’s deputies to Patton’s home, saying she was violating their custody order by keeping their son away from him. Deputies spoke with Julian, who said he was scared of his father and didn’t wish to be with him. Thicke was then turned away and not allowed to take Julian home. A video of the incident was released by TMZ.

Recently, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services launched an investigation into Thicke due to allegations that he’d been using excessive corporal punishment on Julian.

On Thursday (Jan. 12), Thicke won a battle in court when a judge said he would not be limited to monitored daytime visits. Afterwards, he reportedly wanted to take his son for the night, which he’s allowed to do. However, Patton allegedly did not respond to his calls, so Thicke brought deputies to her home on Friday. However, as seen in the video, police refuse to take Julian against his will.

At least one insider says Thicke and Patton are working on finding “some middle ground” for this issue.

Paula filed for divorce from Robin in 2014 due to irreconcilable differences. The actress asked for joint legal and physical custody of their then-four-year-old child. In an interview with Hot 97, Thicke opened up about the separation.

“We’re apart because we just couldn’t be together anymore for a while. There’s a hundred different reasons. There isn’t just one,” he said. “She’s the best girl in the world, a great mother and still a good friend. I also want to wish her well and let her know that she’s a great person and she deserves to have a good life.”
