Linkin Park Announces Chester Bennington Tribute Concert

Linkin Park is set to honor the band’s late lead singer Chester Bennington with a special one-night-only celebration at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday (Oct. 27).

This will mark the first time that the group’s remaining members have taken the stage together since their frontman died by suicide in July. Surprise guests are expected to appear throughout the evening.

In addition to performing, each member will reportedly donate their fees to Music for Relief’s One More Light Fund, which was launched in Bennington’s memory.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale Sept. 19, while general tickets will become available Sept. 22.

To go along with the concert announcement, Linkin Park has also released the video for “One More Light,” which was directed by Joe Hahn and Mark Fiore. It features concert footage, as well as videos captured throughout Linkin Park’s career, pieced together to make an emotional tribute to the beloved singer.

“It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it,” said Hahn, who is also the band’s DJ. “I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people that need it. As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people that connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of goodwill to the people that want that connection.”

Mike Shinoda, a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer in the band, also mourned his late musical partner. “‘One More Light’ was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end,” he wrote. “In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can’t wait to see you again.”
