Drake Reflects on Personal Growth After Feeling Resented

  /  10.25.2019

Drake is grateful for all the love.

On his 33rd birthday, the 6 God took to Instagram to reflect on the big day and his journey to finding inner peace. He revealed that for the last several years, he felt that people did not like him or resented him “for things beyond my control.” The negative thoughts would consume him for months at a time.

“I’ve spent many nights over the last 4 or 5 years feeling like people did not like me or resented me for things beyond my control,” said Drake. “I would sometimes settle into this mindset for months at a time.”

But he realized that he has a lot to be thankful for, including the love and support of his friends and fans. “Today I woke up and looked at my phone and realized how much positive energy and how many unbreakable bonds I have in my life from incredible people,” he added. “All the messages and posts just reminded me that I am covered in a blanket of love and support and I should never second guess that. Thank you for a truly uplifting day. Love you all forever.”

On Wednesday night, Drake celebrated his birthday with a mobster-themed party in Hollywood with famous friends including Adele, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Future, A$AP Rocky, Kylie Jenner, and more.

He received tons of birthday messages, which he reposted on Instagram Stories. Adele wished the birthday boy, writing, “Happy birthday to one of the kindest and funniest people I’ve met,” while French Montana gifted his “Splash Brother” with a $175,000 diamond cuff.
