When has Snoop Dogg ever been known to blend in with the crowd? Even as an A-lister, he reps his set and shuns the red—carpet that is. Guests at his private listening party got Tha Blue Carpet Treatment last Wednesday night at New York City’s Club Strata, where they celebrated the highly anticipated release of his newest album, which hits stores November 21st.

The crowd at the party was thick with industry heads, media, and press who mingled on the lower level of the club, while catching glimpses of models, actors, and hip-hop movers and shakers like Redman, Fredro Starr, Lil’ Kim, and of course, Tha Doggfather himself. Friends of the California-bred artist came out on the stormy night to pop bottles in support of his newest venture. The upstairs VIP section of the nightclub began to flood as the massive video screen near the entrance rolled footage of Snoop’s most notorious small screen appearances. Bartenders stayed pouring everything from gin and juice to Dom Perignon as guests bounced to Snoop’s past and upcoming tracks, which were in full rotation throughout the night. The ground vibrated with the bass of songs such as “Vato,” swiped straight from Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, and attendees got a first listen to what could potentially be the sharp continuation of Snoop Dogg’s West Coast legacy.
