Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim may not be the best of friends, but at least they now have something to bond over. Both women are being sued by Simon & Schuster Inc. The New York publishing house says that the rappers were paid advances for books they never delivered.

Simon & Schuster reports that Brown was paid $75,000 in 2005 to submit an autobiography titled Broken Silence by February 2006, while Lil’ Kim was paid $40,000 in 2003 for a novel that was due in June 2004.

Brown’s attorney Laura Dilimetin claims that her client’s ear surgery caused the delay, and the rapper wants to complete the project.

Meanwhile, Lil’ Kim’s lawyer Bernard Jackson told PEOPLE, “[Kim] has had every intention to fulfill her obligations under the agreement from day one but there were certain resources that are standard for any book publisher to provide that we felt were not available in order for her to complete the project. Many attempts have been made to resolve this matter privately by Kim and she still looks forward to doing so.”
