Obama Camp Responds to Ludacris Lyrics

Ludacris has come under fire for some of the lyrics in his song, “Politics (Obama Is Here),” off his mixtape Gangsta Grillz: The Preview.

On Senator Hillary Clinton, Luda raps: “Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant.” On Jesse Jackson: “Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what?” On Republican nominee John McCain and President George W. Bush: “McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed / Yeah I said it ’cause Bush is mentally handicapped.”

Senator Barack Obama’s camp has condemned the lyrics and issued a statement. Read it below.

“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual, he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

Why does everyone else\’s words/lyrics get attributed to Obama to the point he has to repudiate and rebuke them?

…maybe because Obama went out on a limb to praise Ludacris as a talented rapper and a good business man . Now THIS… HELLO people Obama is running to be President of the USA and by the way he\’s BLACK and his wife Michelle…yes she\’s B L A C K too!!! ONCE IN A LIFETIME OCCURENCE…
Is it too much to ask to support Obama in a positive way? Obama could only do so much to elevate us as black people but we have to do our share as well.. Why does he have to be put in a position to denounce crap from his own people when in fact we are the ones who will eventually benefit from Presidency?! What\\\’s up with that!!.. Have you ever heard the saying that\’ you could take the pig out of the gutter but not the gutter out of the pig\’? Let it not be a reality … we\’re better than that.
