Rap-Up.com || On Set of Kelis’ ’4th of July’ Video

Kelis gets wet in the video for her explosive new single “4th of July (Fireworks),” produced by DJ Ammo. The clip, which was shot in the desert just outside of Los Angeles, was co-directed by Kelis, Rankin, and Nicole Ehrlich, and premieres June 16 on VEVO.

The fashionista will perform the song for the first time on U.S. television on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on June 18, before her album Flesh Tone drops stateside on July 6. Her “All Hearts” tour with pop singer Robyn kicks off July 23 in Los Angeles.

I’m sorry, but after what she’s been doing to the homie Nas, I will never support anything she does ever again (And I’m usually a supporter of whoever will.i.am works with). To each his own (I’m NOT hating on those who are still fans of hers), but I’m just stating my opinion.

i adore kelis so much, i just live for her. i even have her all over my blog she is just amazing to me. esp her beauty and originality which is hardly ever accepted. can’t wait until the video come out!

Anyway, This video is going to be so incredibly EPIC. I know she’ll deliver some amazing looks and visuals for this great track. I seriously can’t wait any longer for ‘Flesh Tone’ to drop, the entire album is just a bumping party. All hail my high priestess of abberancy.

Firstly, Kelis looks breath taking in these photos. Secondly, Lady Ga-Ga has copied Kelis for a while now. For those who do not believe, just youtube Kelis’s video “Get along with You.” You see Kelis was the first to rock that weird and glittery eye make-up. Even Rihanna bit the hell out of Kelis’s style. Who do you think rocked the short and half shaved head first? Thirdly, I am sure the video will be awesome and I can’t wait to view it.

In addition to Fred S’ comment, Youtube Kelis’ “Lil’ Star” video. She’s been rockin’ unusual pieces of fashion and changing her hair since ’06. Way before Gaga came into the picture, and when Rihanna still looked like a Tyra Banks/Beyonce clone. LOL.

I love “4th of July,” it’s definitely one of the best songs on the album IMO. I am so excited to get her new album as well. I have been a Kelis fan for quite some time now and will support anything she does because she is always original.

Good stuff. Kelis always knows how to stay a few steps ahead of the game. Lady Gaga is not as “innovative” as people think.

Watch all of Madonna and Janet’s videos before you drop that weirdo’s name. She hasn’t done a think first. She’s just as unoriginal as the rest.

@Rhino. That’s the dumbest shit I’ve heard today (and that’s saying something). That’s like somebody not supporting Nas’ music b/c he cheated on Kelis. That’s they personal business and it has nothing to do with them as artists. Besides, if you feel that way why comment on her posts? Your doing too much.

Anyway, she looks great. Kudos to her for moving on after divorce with her career too. She’s played her hand pretty well.
