CyHi the Prynce

CyHi the Prynce celebrates Black History Month with the release of his inspiring video for “Ring Bellz,” the opening track off his latest mixtape Royal Flush. Featuring black-and-white footage of civil rights protests, the mini-movie shows the G.O.O.D. Music rapper channeling black leaders Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Huey P. Newton.

“I always wanted to be a preacher growing up so I used to love Martin Luther King’s voice and how he commanded attention, but I knew I couldn’t wear a suit and tie,” explained CyHi. “To reach the people I needed to reach the thugs, thieves, and drug dealers. Plus he said, ‘Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain, Georgia,’ and that’s where I’m from, that’s my hood, so I’m that freedom that’s ringing from Stone Mountain!”
