Lady Gaga has worn latex before, but nothing like this. During an appearance on “Good Morning America” today, the pop provocateur topped herself by wearing a latex condom-inspired outfit to help bring awareness to the global HIV pandemic and promote her new M•A•C Viva Glam campaign.

The “Born This Way” singer rocked a pink-hued ensemble including a rubbery blazer and pants, church hat, and giant platform heels, explaining that the goal was to bring viewers’ attention to the killer disease.

“Well today was a latex condom-inspired outfit, because we’re here to talk about safe sex,” she told Robin Roberts. “I like themes, but today, I really wanted to head-to-toe be representative of what we women and people all over the world need to be concerned about, which is the leading cause of death in women all around the world, which is HIV.”

Gaga, who waved to her mom in the Times Square studio, thanked her for teaching her about safe sex at a young age. She also discussed how surprised she was to receive the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. “I so genuinely did not think I was going to win. I really didn’t and I was so shocked and so honored and so humbled, and it was a very joyous day being able to sing ‘Born This Way’ for the first time,” she stated.

Watch her spread her socially-conscious message in the interview below.
