Rap-Up.com || New Music: R. Kelly – ‘Betcha Gon’ Know’ (Mariah Carey Demo)

R. Kelly’s demo of Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel cut “Betcha Gon’ Know” has surfaced. Kellz’ version, titled “I Check,” was written from the perspective of a female who suspects that her man is cheating, and will remind listeners of his epic “Trapped in the Closet” series. Although his storytelling lyrics were not used on Mimi’s album, Kellz had reportedly recorded a version for her scrapped Angels Advocate remix project.

I do not like it like i thought i would. Mariah Carey isn’t even in this song at all. the original was perfect. R.Kelly wasn’t needed.

@chrischris1992, It’s a demo, dummy. That’s why Mariah’s vocals aren’t in it and if R. Kelly wasn’t needed Mariah wouldn’t have even asked him to remix the song in the first place. He was a part of that remix album project that never came off the ground.

it’s okay…. the original is better though lyrically n vocally!

sounds like this was the official demo before Mimi even got on it n before Dream demo’d it himself for MC. Why else would they keep the beat and change the chorus n theme? anyway this gets 2 out of 5 stars….
