Rap-Up.com || Monica Marries Shannon Brown in Second Wedding Ceremony

Monica and Shannon Brown tied the knot for the second time. The couple celebrated their union in a lavish ceremony in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The Grammy-winning singer, 30, and L.A. Lakers star, 25, quietly wed last fall in a private ceremony, but they exchanged vows before hundreds of their closest family and friends on Saturday at Vibiana, a renovated cathedral in downtown Los Angeles, according to PEOPLE.

The bride was beaming as she walked down the aisle in a gown by Stéphane Rolland during the 30-minute ceremony. Among the VIP guests were Ciara, Ludacris, Cee Lo Green, Ashanti, Nelly, Polow Da Don, La La Vazquez, Carmelo Anthony, and Brown’s teammates Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher. Jermaine Dupri provided the soundtrack to the magical evening.

Monica’s two sons, Romelo and Rocko, along with Brown’s son, arrived by horse and carriage. Guests at the purple and blue-themed reception dined on a three-course gourmet meal.

The newlyweds met last summer while shooting the video for Monica’s single “Love All Over Me.” After getting engaged in October, they married in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles home a month later.

Ludacris photographed his godsons Romelo and Rocko on their mom’s big day.

Don’t get me wrong, I am happy for them and I am not trying to be the partypooper here…

But it just feels as if I’m looking at another marriage that the doomed to fail.
They met last year, people change over the years. They haven’t been through the test of time. I just don’t think it was a smart move.

@Lisa, …but what about people who’ve known each other for years, get married and STILL get divoirced?

With love, there are no guarantees. The only guarantees in this life are death and taxes. Let them be. I hope you find the love of your life so that maybe you’ll understand the power of love. It makes youdo crazy things…but that’s all apart of living, right? Best wishes to you.

@look, of course an everlasting marriage isn’t guaranteed. Does that take away from the fact that they still married quick.

I know what love can do. But I’m not going to sugarcoat things. I am a realist, and most of these marriages do not last for the simple fact that one year isn’t enough to know if your love is strong enough to last a lifetime.

It saddens me to see how many people divorce these days, or get married several times. When you make a commitment like that, you need to look further than just the feeling. You need to very seriously ask yourself if you can be with this person for a 50 year period, considering they’ll change a lot and you’ll change as well.

I agree with everything you said, but I think – eventhough I am really happy for them, I really am – this marriage will not last.

Happy, Happy, Happy for Shannon and Monica Brown, God placed them together. Monica wasted so many years on that baby daddy thinking he would marry her and complete the family as he should have but he didn’t. So I say keep it moving and don’t waste time on people who don’t want what you want and need in your life. Shannon wanted her from the go and he didn’t waste time he now has a wife and 3 children to love and support along with his beautiful wife’s love and support, as he has stated best decision he ever made and he couldn’t let her get away.
