Lil Wayne Readies ‘Rebirth’ and ‘Human Being’ Sequels

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne delivered a blockbuster sequel to Tha Carter III over the summer. The album went platinum in less than two weeks, so it’s only natural that the hip-hop superstar is prepping more sequels.

Mack Maine revealed that Weezy is working on a follow-up to his rock album Rebirth and hip-hop project I Am Not a Human Being. “He’s, like, 12 songs in, and it’s crazy. He went left. He’s in Martian land right now,” the Young Money president told MTV News of Human Being 2.

While both albums did not achieve as much commercial success as Tha Carter series, Weezy uses them as an outlet to express his different tastes. “He gets to show his rock side, he gets to show the gangsta side and talk to the women on one side,” said Mack. “On I Am Not a Human Being, he is definitely showing some weirdo, left-brain, I’m-not-from-here type side. He can say what he wants. There’s no boundaries or limits.”

The diverse music will appeal to his various fan bases. “You have different audiences and different preferences, different demographics of people that like to hear different music,” he added. “He captures all those different audiences and then at a concert or a show, you bring all those different people together. You bring your Rebirth rock people, you bring your Carter people, and you bring your I Am Not a Human Being [crowd], and you have a great show. That’s why we sell out arenas every night.”

Are you looking forward to Weezy’s sequels? Let us know.

Rebirth was great and criminally underrated. The only people that didn’t like it were the simpletons that can’t see music beyond Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame.

    @UKNOWKYLEMC Reply:

@Cranberry, he can’t play the guitar, just because you have a bit of guitar and drums in the background doesn’t make you a rockstar. By the way I don’t listen to Waka or Gucci but as a general fan of rock music it offended my ears.

    Cranberry Reply:

@@UKNOWKYLEMC, lol. You don’t have to be a rock star to use drums and guitars either. God forbid an artist do something DIFFERENT and blur binding genre lines.

@pArallel-intersect, i grew up listening to Tupac who lived and died by his music and wrote about real sh*t. Lil Wayne’s music is trash, the worst part is he says he’s real when he’s one of the fakest in the game right now.

I swear to God that people at Young Money are afraid to say “NO!” to Wayne. Rebirth was God awful, he is NOT a rockstar, he will never BE a rockstar so why the hell does he keep trying to bullshit by playing 2 notes of a guitar and thinking he’s the next Jimi Hendrix. Stick to what has worked for you in the past.

@Mr Xclusive, By your photo there’s no point even arguing with you because you’re clearly a Wayne fanboy.
If it wasn’t so bad why did nobody buy it after it being the first album since Tha Carter III which blew the fuck up? Why did the critics and fans trash the album? BECAUSE LIL WAYNE IS AND WILL NEVER BE A ROCKSTAR!

i wish he would just use beats that emphasis guitar you know a couple of progressions. Maybe have some rockstar features. but not a whole rock album.

Lol at Cranberry, Birr, and pArallel-intersect, I think Lil Wayne is a decent rapper, but is highly overrated. Rebirth was not a great album at all. Rebirth got terrible, bad reviews from professional music critics left and right. There were some hardcore Lil Wayne fans who said they hated Lil Wayne’s Rebirth album. I don’t think Lil Wayne has made a great album at all. Lil Wayne’s best two albums were Tha Carter 1, and Tha Carter II. Lil Wayne’s music began to sound terrible after he made Tha Carter 3. Rebirth only went certified gold, because most of his fans and critics thought that album was a bad career move. The only two people who sounded good with autotune from 2008 to 2009 in my unbiased opinion were T-Pain, and Kanye West. Lil Wayne needs to make a classic album that both critics and fans can agree on. If Lil Wayne’s next album is not better than Tha Carter IV which was also bad, then Lil Wayne will continue to go downhill from a music standpoint.

Lil Wayne should stick to rap, because Rebirth was bad, and Lil Wayne needs to make another album that is on the level of Tha Carter 1 and Tha Carter II from a lyrical standpoint.

Lil Wayne may not be the same as he was in tha Carter 2 or da drought 3. But can’t we all agree is great. He is doing something that he knows is not his strong suit like he and skateboarding. He is just learning and enjoying himself. If you don’t like it, don’t get it. I have every CD and mix tape and I will forever buy his CD’s till his last. Dwayne Michael Carter is a hero in my eyes so don’t wreck it for others please. IANAHB2, rebirth2, tha Carter V, dedication 4,stuntin like my daddy2,we are ym2, are all gonna be awesome!

  26. Rogersboii

Rebirth has got to be the most under rated album of all time, in my opinion it is the second best lil wayne album behind tha carter iii, with I’m not a human being coming a close 3rd. I like when he experiments, shows he can adapt to get more fans! This comes from a real music fan, not someone who listens to one genre and thinks all other music is shit!

I think rebirth was good and rebirth two will be even better. He has his own rock “space rock”. And just because he dresses different to his own style doesnt mean he isn’t real. If you want a nigger who sags his fucking pants to the ground and talks about the hood then u get the fuck on. He showing young black kids that there is more to hip hop than typical nigger shit
