Rap-Up.com || Soulja Boy Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Soulja Boy is facing a drug charge after being arrested early Tuesday morning in Temple, Ga., for marijuana possession.

The 21-year-old rapper, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was driving in a rented Cadillac Escalade with four other men when Temple Police Department officers pulled him over for a traffic violation around 3:15 a.m.

According to TMZ, officers found a “substantial amount” of marijuana and cash inside the vehicle, estimated around $70,000. The “Crank That” rapper was booked into the Carroll County Jail on a felony charge of marijuana possession and currently remains there, reports the AP.

Law enforcement sources also tell TMZ that guns were found inside the car, but it’s unknown if any of the men had the proper licenses to carry the weapons.

Soulja Boy is being held without bond and his first court appearance is set for this afternoon.
