50 Cent Signs Headphones in New York

50 Cent

50 Cent was on hand to sign his new headphones SYNC by 50 and STREET by 50 at J&R Music World in New York City today. The wireless and wired devices, which start at $300, will go head to head with Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre line.

“I want people to hear music the way I hear it initially,” said the hip-hop tycoon, who recently lashed out at his label on Twitter for prematurely announcing a release date for his new single.

“I’m not putting my album out till we are all on the same page,” he wrote. “Girls Go Wild” featuring Jeremih was slated to hit iTunes on December 31.

@Merline Stevens, They’re just headphones from an unknown brand repped by an artist that’s best days in the lime light are long gone. $300 for some headphones isn’t the sweet spot for regular consumers especially during a recession. These headphones don’t give you elite status like Apple products so why on earth would anyone be compelled to buy this unknown item other than for novelty?
