Rap-Up.com || Cassie Discusses Relationship with Diddy, Possible Nicki Minaj Collaboration

Following her trip to Paris for Fashion Week, Cassie stopped by Tim Westwood’s radio show on BBC Radio 1Xtra to promote her new single “King of Hearts.” The model/singer shared her thoughts on Kanye West’s new womenswear line, meeting Shyne for the first time, reconnecting with former producer Ryan Leslie, and addressed the constant speculation surrounding her relationship with Diddy. She also hinted at a possible collaboration with Nicki Minaj on her upcoming album. Read some of the highlights below.

On Kanye’s new womenswear line: “It looks really, really great. The quality of it is really good and you can see that he’s grown since his last show.”

On meeting Shyne during Paris Fashion Week: “He is one of the nicest people, just like Rick Ross, and down-to-earth. I like when people have very little words when they speak. When they say something, it means something. They’re not just talking to hear themselves talk.”

On her rumored romantic relationship with Bad Boy boss Diddy: “I choose to say that I don’t talk about my personal life, but he is one of my very good friends.”

On her sophomore album title: “Electro Love is no longer the name of the album. I switched it. I’m gonna announce it on my website.”

On whether Nicki Minaj will appear on the album: “Possibly,” she said before Westwood responded, “That means yes.”

On reconnecting with Ryan Leslie, who produced her debut: “I still haven’t worked with him on this album, but we did meet and he heard my new music. I’m still open to do something ’cause we’re not done until we’re done with it.”

I bet a Cassie/Nicki collobo would be HOT. I hope “King of Hearts” takes off for her. You know what happens when she releases a song and it goes nowhere…it takes a whole year for her to release another one. I’ve been patiently waiting for a new album.

Ryan Leslie is to Cassie like, Rodney Jerkins is to Brandy, or Rich Harrison is to Amerie. Some producers and artist are just a musical match. Cassie and Ryan need to put the bullshit aside and get back in the studio, Cassie threw Next Selection out the window when she started f*cking Diddy…this is why it’s been so long for an album follow up.

@TRP, you wanna know the real diddy was intimidated by the connection cassie & ryan had that he thought she would fucks with him so HE MADE cassie stop working with him he told writers if you write for cassie dont have ryan produce nothing i love me some diddy but he has held cassie back from collabs with certain guys, movies (cough cough she was suppose to do John Tucker Must Die instead of ashanti and easy a) if its not modeling he has put his word in it but i feel like now she knows herself now say what you want but she is really nice i just want her to win

Ryan Leslie is the only producer who i can see make cassie Win big as an artist. His production with cassies voice was just perfect. King Of Hearts hasnt even charted on Billboard yet and will definately be a flop for Cassie shes going to need to move on to another single smh
