    flop
       [flop] Show IPA verb, flopped, flop·ping, noun

    verb (used without object)
    1.
    to fall or plump down suddenly, especially with noise; drop or turn with a sudden bump or thud (sometimes followed by down ): The puppy flopped down on the couch.

    2.
    to change suddenly, as from one side or party to another (often followed by over ).

    3.
    to be a complete failure; fail: The play flopped dismally.

    4.
    Informal . to sleep or be lodged: to flop at a friend’s house.

    5.
    to swing loosely; bounce; flap: His long hair flops in his eyes when he runs.

    ….that is the definition of “flop”. To associate that with Chris Brown or any of his albums is misusing the term. What are YOU doing with your life that makes you superior to his success? Sitting behind a computer screen? ok.

    This album will FLOP. No question. His time has come and gone. After you have had a public scandal involving beating a woman’s face to pulp, several public displays of agression, and a music career relying on features and Europop dance music, things might be taking a nose dive. His quality of music has worsen over the years and will probably continue to do so.

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, Considering the fact his latest album is platinum worldwide, just received a Grammy off of it, and already has a top ten hit from this upcoming; I would have to deny. Chris has always had dance records. No more than three (on one album) at the most. Bringing up his past is plain ignorant. He paid the consequences and didn’t committ again. He asked for forgiveness but there’s so little who was raised with a heart. God forgives him. Anyways, FORTUNE WILL SLAY!

    Say No To Domestic Violence Reply:

    @Quida,

    Nothing I said was “ignorant.” I just stated facts. He did beat a woman leaving bruises, contusions, blood, and scars on her face. If anything he should be an advocate against domestic violence, with some sort of foundation or awareness group. If he would start something like that instead of just some court ordered duties, people would stop blaming him. On the music side, his music has not lived up to his hype. The quality has gotten bad over the years to appeal to younger audiences. That’s just the truth.

    [Reply]

    Patricia :) Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, His past has absolutely nothing to do with his music. Those facts went down in 2009. Both Rihanna and Chris have moved past it. You should admire the fact he got help. A lot of men are walking around not giving a fuck at all. Some artist just bail themselves out and keep it moving. Chris didn’t. He said he was working on himself. That’s a start. You shouldn’t judge two techno songs against all his music. He gives quality.

    [Reply]

    Say No To Domestic Violence Reply:

    @Patricia :),

    His past has everything to do with his current music. He had no choice but to seek help. It wasn’t voluntary. It was court ordered. If he didn’t seek help he wouldnt have a career at the moment. But I’m glad to hear he said he wants to change. His current music is still crappy though.

    [Reply]

    Patricia :) Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, ……………. Music is music. His past is his personal life. That issue will always be gossip but that has NOTHING to do with his music. Use that brain. It was court ordered and he asked for it, smart ass. He had the option to fuck up or be a better/stronger person and that certificate that was signed by his teacher, showed he chose to be a better person. You can’t minimize that. Since day ONE he wanted to change, REALLY? You seriously came on here thinking you knew it all, smh. His music and spirit is why he still has a career. You can’t minimize his gift. Point blank. To you his music is crappy. To millions it isn’t. You think he came into the music industry with EVERYBODY liking his music? NO. You’ll always have that SOMEONE who doesn’t agree. You happen to be that “someone”. He’s just fine :). Literally near legendary status. No reason for someone to breakdown over your disapproval.

    Quida Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, You think the world wasn’t aware of that? EVERYONE knows. I’m just waiting on when y’all will acknowledge his progress. That’s hard for the white race though! Hold the fuck up, are you saying he changed his music for KIDS? You need to listen to ALL the music he released within this month and stop focusing on TWO fucking songs. Sweet Love is about SEX. Til I Die is completely DIRTY rap. Research! Research! Research! Artist need to EXPAND. Chris always wanted to try the field of all genres and if he was doing so bad at it, NOBODY would be checking for him. Including YOU. Chris isn’t original. He’s always bringing forth a vibe you don’t hear everyday. That’s a problem for you, darling? STOP CHECKING FOR HIM. Don’t put something bad on someone’s life if they’re doing just fine and trying to be positive. That’s what you call a hypocrite.

    Whatever. You can’t defend a man beating a woman. I don’t care how much you want to.

    [Reply]

    Quida Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, OH? You talked all of that and now it’s whatever? Looks like I got them screws turning in that skull of yours, huh?! I understand the fact he beat a woman, but he was DOWN for getting help. He didn’t give them people a hard time. He OWNED up to his faults. That right there is a step to getting BETTER. Everyone’s goal is to STOP THE VIOLENCE. You’re over here with a username that says “Say No To Domestic Violence” but NOT acknowledging a guy who committed that crime and has had A LOT of progress (Something you DO NOT see very often). Til this damn day, he’s FOCUSING on GROWING UP. The courts didn’t assign that to him. That is someone I will defend and stand up for. He sees his problems and he’s EAGER to work on them. Now if he didn’t own up to his faults, repeatedly committed the crime, and still didn’t give a fuck about what he did; he’s a man that enjoys hitting women. He’s someone who clearly doesn’t want a second chance. He’s someone that doesn’t deserve to be defended. Go ahead, deny it! Throughout all of this, we both can see you really don’t care about the accomplishments nor Chris Brown. You just like the bullshit and his past. There’s a difference between standing up for no violence and letting people’s past make them. That red x at the side of your computer or end button on your phone is waiting for you. HYPOCRITE, that’s what you are.

He’s still struggling with anger but he sure in the hell made the courts happy and graduated from his classes. YET didn’t repeatedly committ the crime. His goal is to focus and to mature. I SEE GROWTH. Flop? Chris has always supplied dance music and that was no problem for others. Someone didn’t do their homework! At the beginning of 2012 he started STACKING. Won his FIRST Grammy. Won 3 awards overseas and a Billboard award. He was MOST charted. The BET Awards is still coming. The lead single from this album gave him another top ten; making him the second R&B male to have 22 next to Usher. It also gave him his FIRST UK no.1. But this album/Chris is a flop? K.

    Say No To Domestic Violence Reply:

    @1-800-SlapThatDELUSION,

    You are the type of people who think that namecalling and listing a bunch of accomplishments and numbers will negate the whole truth. Of course Chris Brown is successful. There’s no questioning that. But his private struggles on top of his current crappy music has had an impact on his career. There’s just no getting around that. So like I said before, this record will flop. It’s just that simple.

    [Reply]

    1-800-SlapThatDELUSION Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, Half those accomplishments had a BIG impact on his MUSICAL and PERSONAL life. If you really think that doesn’t matter, you clearly praise domestic violence. And if his last album didn’t flop after three years of that incident, this won’t either. If his music is still selling, you should speak for yourself if you think his music is crappy. Go help out a domestic violence shelter since you care about something he seeked help for.

    [Reply]

    Say No To Domestic Violence Reply:

    @1-800-SlapThatDELUSION,

    So how exactly does winning 4 awards and charting on Billboard have an impact on the issue of domestic violence? That was some of the worst reasoning I have ever heard. Also, if I were you I wouldn’t minimize the issue of domestic violence. It just might happen to you one day.

    [Reply]

    1-800-SlapThatDELUSION Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, Do you realize what you said to me? You said his accomplishments and numbers won’t negate the the truth. His accomplishments was graduating from a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE class and doing what he was told WITHOUT trouble. Yet he HAS NOT committed that crime REPEATEDLY. That is a ACCOMPLISHMENT, sweetie! Are you not aware of our society? Men are committing DV and not even doing THAT. Give credit when due! I’m not minimizing anything. Everyone deserves a second chance when deserved. He didn’t change over night, but I see improvement. If you worked with men in situations like this, you would know the people they have to talk to everyday want to see their GROWTH. They don’t look at you and just say you’ll never change. You must’ve missed needed hugs as a kid.

    Say No To Domestic Violence Reply:

    @1-800-SlapThatDELUSION,

    There’s no need for any hostility. We have a difference in what the ‘truth’ is. I swear some of you people cannot tell the difference between honest criticism and bashing someone’s character. Why must you all get so emotional? It’s just a conversation. Unfortunately his growth is not broadcasted in the media the way his anger is. That picture of a battered Rihanna will forever be around, hold weight, and remind people of that horrific event.

    He won his first Grammy! (the highest honor in music)

    @Lilly,

    Maybe you don’t understand that a childish response warrants a reply that will make it known to be such. How about you address all the explitives and rude names people are using to reply on here and all the anger they’re harboring. It is clear this is the wrong forum to address a group of people not ready to have a mature conversation about a sensitive issue. I am not giving credit to something I don’t see. You all said he has changed and that is a good thing. Unfortunately everyone hasn’t seen this “growth” you people speak of.

    [Reply]

    Lilly Reply:

    @Say No To Domestic Violence, When you are in a situation with explicit responses and rude names, you be the better person, defend yourself, and keep it pushing. Not make the issue bigger. I shouldn’t be teaching. People who wait for accurate receipts see his growth. We don’t let everything that comes off a blog determine who someone is. With that being said, if you can’t acknowledge the fact that owning up to your wrongs is a step to growth (Which he has past that phase. He’s graduated from his class and is now trying to focus on growing up), you need to think of something else to talk about and change your username. You can’t say no to domestic violence or expect no violence if you don’t want the men to change nor don’t give props for owning up to their mistakes. Point blank.

    @Triniti, Exactly who in the post said she or he was hating? I’ll wait. Basically what everyone is saying is you need to give credit when do, speak for yourself, and his past has nothing to do with his music. Anyone with a BRAIN will understand that. You don’t get no where in life focusing on the first stage if an individual has progressed in that stage and moved higher.

    This what is wrong with society, just because someone has some personal issues that they have to deal with does not mean that they are not a great talent. We as society need to learn to separate personalities from the work that they do.Most people don’t really have it all figured out until they are in their late twenties. Why are we expecting Chris to be superhuman and have his life all figured out at age 23? Whether or not this album is a success it is up to his fans to decide, so why do people who do not follow his journey and are not his fans so concerned about his sales. The fact that Chris Brown took responsibility for his part, shows me that he is a better person so I will continue to support and celebrate the good work that he does because at the end of the day he is allow to make mistakes and learn from them just like any other human being.

Nicki has a SEXTAPE. Were you aware? Oh, she admitted it! Nicki was the one who thought it was cute to come on a stage with a dildo….. I still got you? Mmmkay! She thought being SEXUAL would get her into the industry. You ok? Nicki’s BOSS…. Is tatted up and keep his mind on weed. She has NO problem with that. Why? Cause she “hood”. Is that a good example of a black woman? Should she choke and die? OH, I’LL WAIT.

    @Selena, My friend that is actually my real last name. My mother thought it would be cute to name me Ken with the last name in which we have. Nothing gay here (nothing against the preference of others). However taking a domestic violence course is not considered an education. The crimes in which Chris Brown commited were classless and egregious. I’m not saying he is to be held accountable forever however domestic abuse is an issue that strikes a nerve for me as I grew up a child in a battered environment and have been in countless relationships where the tensions was enough to make me want to snap on my women, however you have to be the man to walk away. Chris Brown watched his mother be beat on countless occasions and I’m tired of people acting like what he did was ok because of what he grew up around. That excuse is old. I was rooting for Chris Brown in the beginning of his career, he was so talented and refreshing but now he’s a “bad boy” with twitter rants, and temper tantrums. Chis Brown has money and there is no reason he should be so ignorant. I thought he was going to be a class act and believed strongly that he was the next Michael Jackson but now… he’s in the same rachet boat with all the other abusers. It doesn’t matter what white people do, they run the globe. Its already enough that black men have had to endure negative portrayals in the media and being a black man in this business you have to make wiser decisions. I hope he realizes the power that he is wasting…

    @Ken Barbie, Time out. Did you say “Stay blessed”? You’re religious? Nice. I can come at you with the word then, right? Mmhuh. God does have a plan. Everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t use Chris childhood to take away from the fact he committed domestic violence. Although, when a child sees something that tragic almost everyday, without help during that era, 99% of the time, that child is most likely to repeat what they saw. Chris is someone who asked for help, owned up to his mistakes, graduated from his domestic violence class, and is still has the motive to growing up. Because I wasn’t raised to be racist (unlike you) and to be judgmental (unlike you) I see his growth. He went to God and asked for forgiveness. He received it and that’s really all that matters. Chris graduated from highschool; that was the education I was talking about. The new generation kids don’t even focus on school education anymore. It’s all about the streets. Chris only acts like he’s tough in videos and pictures. If you ever meet him, you would see a good hearted person. Today, he got his fans to go feed the homeless with his mom; thought you should know that. What happens online is because of what blogs put online. It’s what happens when people like you feed into the rumors. He has every right to defend himself. Specially if he’s being attacked by the world. Everyone wants to see him fall, but guess what? He won’t. His mom has him prayed up. I’m even praying for him and when two or three are gathered together, your request shall be answered. I have nothing else to say to you. Now, ask yourself WHAT WOULD JESUS DO before you judge and say things like “die or choke”. God bless ya, babe! :)

    @Selena,

    why do you have such serious issues? It’s clear that you the same person all over this post changing your screen name a thousand times. bipolar. If you knew any better, which you dont you’d change up the look of those long ass paragraphs of breezy d*ck s*cking. you must think youre ‘checking’ people but youre making a complete fool of yourself. attacking people for their comments is just plain stupid. you can’t force people to forget chris past. Regardless chris is still doing his thing and still be gettin money. I am a chris brown fan but I am no where near as obsessed as you. then you had the nerve to throw the good Lord’s name in it after calling people “bitches,” “black n*ggas” “white n*ggas” “hypocrite” and cursing like you have no judgement day yourself. your manipulation is not working. you are just masking all that pain.

    @hold up, I smell foolery, I’m curious. How can you tell if someone is switching names and posting comments based off of length and words? Those things you see everyday. Lol

    @hold up, I smell foolery, God Bless you! I appreciate that you as a fan of Chris Brown didnt come at me for my opinion. It is clearly obvious that Chris Brown is still well established and selling records after his incident and no one can take that from Chris. What i was trying to convey in my posts is that Chris was once a role model and the quality of what he is known for has changed. I will not go into several unformed paragraphs like the young lady which you just addressed I just want to Thank you for not being a stan and allowing other to have an opinion.

    Ken Barbie Reply:

    @Selena, God bless you as well! I hope that he does continue to salvage his image and that he can regain some of the fan base in which he lost because believe it or not even after the incident took place between him and the young lady (if I can call her that) I was rooting for him. Chris is undoubtedly talented, i just strongly believe that he needs to focus on his anger management and yes I am a man that tries to live by the word but I’m not perfect, i judge sometimes and sometimes i use profanity. If you guys are his real fans though you shouldnt glamorize him for the infamous behavior and bad boy act, you should praise him for his accolades and accomplishments in his career.
