Nicki Minaj spent her 4th of July back home in Trinidad shooting the video for “Pound the Alarm,” the new single off her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The Young Money diva, who announced Tyga as one of the supporting acts for her European arena tour in the fall, received a hero’s welcome as she paraded through the streets on a float. The blonde bombshell showed off her curves in a red bikini and feathery costume in the carnival-themed clip.

“Just wrapped an amazing video on an amazing island. #Trinidad #poundthealarm,” tweeted Nicki. “The heat in Trinidad is on another level. O-o The girls in the vid are drop dead gorgeous & I’m not just saying it cuz I’m from here!”

@bitch please, How is this era a fail? yes it didn’t do as well as you may have hoped in America but pink friday did the total opposite pink fri did great in America but not so hot worldwide while roman reloaded is doing great overseas but is not as hot in america but now pink fri is a worldwide success it’s not a fail because her album is in the top ten best selling albums so far this year as of July 1 it is not great year for sales obviously cause no one has even went platnium this year who album dropped this year no one look it up!!!!!! Trinidad = carnival thats wts its abt….thats the main part of our culture….i dbt yall expected her to com to trini and go jump up in a club?!? She came here becuz she wanted to do a carnival themed vid! Apart from brazil we are one of the top countries with great carnival!
