Rap-Up.com || Frank Ocean to Perform at MTV VMAs

Frank Ocean’s year keeps getting better. The “Thinkin Bout You” singer has been announced as a performer for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

Ocean will make his VMA debut, delivering material off his critically-acclaimed album channel ORANGE. He is nominated for three awards including Best New Artist and Best Male Artist.

In addition, Rihanna has been officially announced as a performer. Last week, she leaked the news on Twitter.

Previously announced performers include Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, One Direction, and Alicia Keys, who will debut the title track off her upcoming album Girl on Fire. Additionally, 2 Chainz, Ke$ha, The Wanted, Andy Samberg, and Rashida Jones have been added to the list of presenters, which also includes Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Miley Cyrus.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the VMAs air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST.

Now i’m hoping others of OF will perform. If Lana Del Rey can get a performance with barely any hype and MTV don’t really play her vids like that(I’m very glad she performing though), then the rest of OF should get a performance.

I’m really happy for Frank Ocean being nominated for three categories. It will be equally exciting to see him perform, he’s one of my favorite R&B artists. This will be a great award show this year, I can’t wait to see Alicia Keys perform a song from her new album as well. This show always provides my Dish coworkers and I a lot to talk about. This is why I’ll be recording it on my Hopper this year. I love that this equipment allows me to start watching the recording on one of my TV’s and then continue where I left off on any TV in my house. It’s so convenient because I’m able to get a lot of work done and in several different rooms while I watch play backs.
