Barely two days into auditions for the new season of “American Idol,” there are already rumors swirling that Mariah Carey and fellow judge Nicki Minaj are not getting along. But during a press conference on Monday, the pop diva disputed the reports.

“How are we gonna feud in two days? Let the feud take a little longer to spread out,” joked Mariah, who was seated alongside country star Keith Urban and Nicki at the judges’ table.

“It’s fun. It’s music. It’s singing. It’s laughter,” she added.

Mariah and Nicki collaborated on the remix to Mariah’s 2010 single “Up Out My Face.” Mimi is earning around $18 million for one season on “Idol,” while Nicki’s paycheck is a reported $12 million.

@iBzThuggin’, Nicki’s latest single didn’t flop. It was just recently released. Unless y’all were referring to “I Am Your Leader” which didn’t receive any promo b/c she didn’t care. Her album has sold 653,244 copies in the US & 1 mill+ WW. Most female rappers albums flopped because they barely sold 150,000 (besides Lauryn & Missy). Know your facts before expressing your thoughts.

The people watch the Voice because it’s gimmicky. People love the idea that an ugly person with a good voice turns some of the judges’ chairs and the judges have to pretend to be pleased. Admittedly, the judges do have great chemistry, but the Voice, without exaggeration, produces zero stars. The finalists don’t even sell a respectable number of units…they simply don’t sell.

I just don’t get why everybody hates Nicki as a judge? She obviously isn’t Adele or Beyonce, she’s her own persona and I respect that people don’t like her music but she’s shriving to better things. She’s the only RAPPER that I know off, on a show like this. Let alone she’s FEMALE. Kim was the shit back in the day, but was she doing stuff like this? Was Missy?

In a couple of years we’ll be seeing her own label, sponsored by the biggest companies in the business. She’d be a Wayne to a Nicki, a Wayne to a Drake. Like she said she’s in the HOV lane! I respect her alot.

& Another thing, she’s been getting criticism for her sexual content in her lyrics and she shouldn’t be a judge on a show like this, but weren’t you complaining that she’s cross-overed to pop? You can never win! & How the fuck does she show her body too much? She has a ass like JLo-Bey, and there isn’t anything really wrong with her tits. At-least she isn’t like Kim with just a thing over her nipple!
