Rap-Up.com || New Music: Marcus Canty

“X Factor” alum Marcus Canty switches things up on his new track “Used By You” from his debut EP THIS…Is Marcus Canty.

The mid-tempo song is a bit of role reversal. “Since your man ain’t acting right, girl, I’ma be all yours tonight,” he sings to a woman whose cheating man has driven her to him. “I want to be used by you, I’ll be your little friend on the side.”

Since placing fourth on “X Factor,” Marcus has appeared on the soundtrack to Think Like a Man and will release his EP on October 30 via Epic Records. The 8-track offering includes the single “In & Out” featuring Wale.

This is what REAL R&B sounds like! Marcus has a better voice than these pseudo-R&B singers who can’t decide if they want to sell out harder for the pop or techno audiences.
