Rap-Up.com || Nicki Minaj Debuts ‘Pink Friday’ Fragrance Commercial

Her Minajesty, Nicki Minaj, is painting the roses pink in the official commercial for her fragrance “Pink Friday.” Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the queen of the Barbz debuts the 30-second clip on YouTube.

A blonde-haired Nicki is seen lying in a bed of black roses as her new single “Freedom” plays in the background. When a thorn pricks her finger, a drop of pink blood drips onto one rose and eventually everything starts turning pink.

“‘Pink Friday’ is a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman,” Nicki said of the perfume, which is a mixture of juicy fruits, creamy vanilla, and sensual musks. “I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect—from the name, to the outrageous bottle design, to the vibrant colors that create their own song.”

@Oh,Lady Gaga’s fragance commercial is all about darkness. It doesn’t change. The perfume is black, and it’s a concept that goes with her “The Fame Monster” album.

Nicki Minaj’s commercial is about her whole career, she’s turning something black (male hip-hop popular music) into something pink, which is she and her alter-egos.
There’s nothing in common with these two ads. If you judge because of the black background then you must be idiot.

Well the commercial is ok and looks better visually than the one before, but Pink Friday the fragrance is nothing spectacular.
It’s a fruity-floral with mostly clean aspects from jasmine, lotus and musks. The fruits are quite sour (mandarin and boysenberry), but the base is a big let down, since no creamy vanilla or pear is detectable to me.
It’s truly a very generic celebrity scent. There have been other good additions this year to that fragrance sector.

Pink Friday reminds me of Britney’s Cosmic Radiance and Pamela Anderson’s Malibu Day. It has the same opening and floral aquaticness and that is a composition I surely don’t like.
I got quite a good overview over celebrity scents since I review a lot and collect many. Of course it’s a subjective matter, but Pink Friday could have never been produced also.
The lasting power is very minimal and the bottle is more than hideous.

This is my opinion. If you like it still, it’s fine with me.
