Just hours before the Grammys are announced, Melanie Fiona debuts the video for her Grammy-nominated single “Wrong Side of a Love Song” off her sophomore album The MF Life. Under the direction of Larenz Tate, the Canadian songbird pours her heart out on camera, while showcasing her acting chops.
In the powerful narrative, an emotional Melanie cries, laughs, fights, and flirts with her hunky co-star Omari Hardwick (For Colored Girls) while belting out the soulful ballad, produced by Jack Splash.
“It’s very raw and it’s acting, and it’s very, very truthful,” she told Rap-Up TV. “It was really a meeting of the minds and talents and artistry to bring this to you guys. We wanted to tell a powerful, powerful story.”
If she wanted to spice it up she’d make the GOOD guy turn bad at the end (finds out he has HIV or a wife) and the bad guy should’ve been planning her a surprise ANNIVERSARY or WEDDING party. That would have been tight!
i liked her video but i would have had ended it differently but its not my video. still emjoyed it. my ending would have been during the end of the happy times he picks up her phone and sees a text message in her phone from someone else explicit or not but something to make him raise his eyebrow change his attitude. good time now bad times
Some people may like this video and some people don’t like it @ all period. Nice music video but I would love to see her getting into acting in a Movie IF she can do it

Nice but just… bland.

Why does it have to have drama in order for it not to be bland? It was fine just the way it was. @J. V.,
