Chris Brown Announces ‘X’ Release Date

Chris Brown

X finally has a date. Chris Brown has revealed when his fans will be able to get his new album.

Originally due in July, the sixth LP from the R&B singer will now arrive in stores and online on November 19.

He made the announcement on Twitter, writing, “111913!”

X, which marks the follow-up to 2012′s Fortune, has already spawned the singles “Fine China,” the Aaliyah-assisted “Don’t Think They Know,” and “Love More” featuring Nicki Minaj.

Brown previously revealed collaborations with Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, Kelly Rowland, Brandy, and Kendrick Lamar (“Autumn Leaves”), with production from Timbaland, Pharrell, Diplo, Polow Da Don, Drumma Boy, and Danja.

In an interview with DJ Skee, he said that he hoped to release a double album with 20 tracks.

“I tried to stay away from the Euro beats, and not go totally pop,” Breezy told Rolling Stone. “Instead, I wanted to take the Quincy Jones approach. The record pays homage to the Stevie Wonders, the Michael Jacksons, the Sam Cookes. I wanted to put that classic essence of R&B and soul with the new age of music now.”

@lola, fortune hasn’t even scanned gold and it’s been out for over a year. I don’t think people are checking for him anymore. His singles are flops and that movie totally bombed at the box office.

Chris Brown’s story is really, REALLY sad. He had a chance to redeem himself (BET Awards 2010).Then came the GMA performance(2011) and the series of bad luck created by himself began. Chris, look at the “Man in the Mirror” (No pun intended).

I’ve been a fan of his since he came out in 2005, and I still am. But I think his days are over especially that albums are leaking and anyone can illegally download for free. Also, especially that there are new artistes people would rather listen to, e.g. Adele, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Frank Ocean, Miguel, Justin Bieber, One Direction, just to mention a few. These artistes including a few others have somewhat brought some competition in the industry since 2008/2009.

Since social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc) became a thing, celebrities have made it easier for media to scrutinize them. In this day and age, image is EVERYTHING for a celebrity. Chris has failed to maintain good behavior, and I know it is not easy especially after what he went through in 2009 – but no excuse.

Chris talked about improving his Twitter habits, but no, zero change is what we keep getting. And you don’t expect people to buy your album with a single that sings: “Til we get it right we gon’ f*ck some mo’” Not with strong singles from artists like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, JT and Drake on radio playing.

They say at the end of the day “You have yourself to blame”. If Chris even sells better than fortune (134K) in the first week, then his lucky and needs to work even HARDER. If he fails to beat that, just know it’s OVER. People around have proved incompetent; they are not helping you. There are too many YES men and women.

Lastly, looking at Twitter stats, Chris has stumbled the most on the list of top 100 most followed in the past 15 months. That says a lot. He is averaging 1,500 follows per 24 hours. He used to Average 15,000 to 20,000 around 2011 to early 2012.There is a popularity scare here…Again IMAGE issues.

Chris, if you’re reading this, please CHANGE my brother. Remember that you are responsible for what happens to you in life.

@It-Can-Happen, all of this is truth but you have to stop placing blame on who’s around him. Remember that he chooses to have those yes men around. He doesn’t want people that will tell him his ish stinks. If he did, they’d be around. The major issue with him is that time and time again, he will say he’s changed and turning over a new leaf. He says he has no beef with anyone. Then in the next interview or tweets, he will be throwing shots at artists or even in his music. (See his comments on Jay-Z and Drake in his interviews). Then he will constantly blame others instead of taking responsibility for his actions. It’s always someone else. Always. If that’s not bad enough, he will talk about how others get a pass but he doesn’t. Wtf? He needs to stop worrying about others. Also, remember how he went on those string of interviews to promote fine china? He was trying to be all friendly with “white America” and then when he gets mad he calls them racist. Were they racist when you were tap dancing for their approval a few months ago?

Lies, Chris. Your singles sound like the same ol crap you’ve been releasing since 2005. No, wait, nevermind. Your music was much better 2005-2008.

@Lovesong, yeah I’m not sure when Quincy jones, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, or MJ made a song that sounds remotely close to “til we get it right, we gon f*ck some mo”. I might’ve missed that in their discography.

I’m excited for X becuz I love his stuff. And I root for him – he’s an impulsive mixed-up kid who keeps working hard, despite all the bashing for the last five years. Its sad tho – y’all right, his early stuff was the best and we do need Exclusive 2 (wishful thinking). He could have been the best….

Haters just gonna keep on hating on this man…..all you can do is talk about his numbers, nobody ever says anything about the quality of music. What artist is more diverse than this man? Sit down and actually LISTEN to the production, the vocals, the melodies that he brings us. Ya’ll need to stop all that fussing about numbers man and understand that he will die a legend. Don’t let him be one of the artists that get appreciated after their death. My whole family is buying this n*gga album because we know he never fails when it comes to bringing quality music

@Zay Apollo, Is that you, Joyce? I was in your corner until you said this guy will die a “legend.” Legends don’t make repetitive, predictable ass music …. but you tried it!

    [Reply]

    Wow Reply:

@Zay Apollo, ok but vocals? I’m almost positive you’ve missed his screeching at the billboard awards. Let’s not act like he’s some musical genius. He makes the same kind of music with the same tone. Year after year. He is mediocre at best especially when you consider the new talent that has surfaced. Or even old talent that has resurfaced. He’s no Usher or Bruno Mars. Hell he’s far from a Miguel. Sit down with this laughable exaggeration.

    [Reply]

    Zay Apollo Reply:

@Wow, Wow…..so you base vocals off of 1 bad performance months ago? How about recent things? Youtube all of this. Chris Brown Skee Live, Chris Brown iHeartRadio, Chris Brown Wild Jam…like are you forreal? As soon as he got off stage he knew he aint sound good and he tweeted about it. Don’t act like he thought he sounded good lol he knew he was hoarse as fuck. Chris Brown makes the same music? ARE YOU INSANE? Which two singles sound the same? He doesn’t jump on songs using the same tone like OTHER people in the game minus Usher & JT. Bruno mars is amazing but he always sings in the same tone. Miguel as well. Chris make better music than Miguel anyway tbh. Miguel is overhyped and his album wasn’t even that good honestly, only GREAT song musically on it was Adorn and How Many Drinks…and MAYBE P*ssy Is Mine. I would name you songs off of Chris Fortune album but i don’t think you listened. And if you didn’t then you REALLY SHOULD

@matty smith, He is multi-talented but NOTHING like Michael Jackson so you can kill that shit right now. Chris needs to start making better decisions and stop playing into the media’s hands with his reckless actions and tweets.

  27. Beej

I love Chris and all, but I really just wish he would take a break from music and disappear for a while to get his shit together and reinvent himself. Then maybe in a couple years when he’s figured himself out, come back to the music scene stronger than ever and with a fresh outlook. He’s very talented no doubt, but his music has been sounding the same for the past few years and his involvement in all this unnecessary drama is killing his image. Dude had so much potential but he blew it. It’s like he’s not even trying anymore. Putting out a new song every week on the internet just to stay relevant? Quality over quantity bruh..

Most of you people are really ignorant when it comes to accessing an artists’ worth. A lot of you are on here talking about Chris Brown’s mishaps with the media and how impulsive he is. The man is a musician. Why don’t you talk about his musical abilities. I listen to jazz, old-school R&B, and classic rock. I rarely listen to current pop music. The quality just isn’t up to par. But from what I’ve observed over the last few years, Chris Brown is probably the most talented pop entertainer in the industry right now (I’m looking at singing/songwriting/dancing/performing). He’s the only one with a “total-entertainment package.” His music doesn’t sound any worse than Miguel, Frank Ocean or any other current artists. Truth is, there aren’t anymore REAL ENTERTAINERS in the game anymore, not male entertainers… except Chris Brown and Usher to a lesser degree (in the pop music genre). Michael Jackson was the last great pop music performer/entertainer. If you haters would be really honest with yourselves you’ll have to admit that Chris Brown is the closest thing to a great entertainer that you have in the pop music world. If you combine ALL of his talents, none of the other artists (particularly male artists) even come close. All the hate you’re spewing out can’t cover up these facts. You’re really picking on the wrong guy. You’re trying to say that the most “all-around” talented guy in the industry should just up and quit…because you don’t like him anymore (or never did). You sound like whiny little b*tches!!!
