Ashanti Unveils New ‘BraveHeart’ Cover

Braveheart

Ashanti is in full bloom on the cover of her fifth album BraveHeart. The R&B beauty poses in front of a rose in the gorgeous photo, which replaces the previous cover. She unveiled the new artwork on Instagram along with a series of promo photos, shot by Robert Ector.

After several delays, the follow-up to 2008’s The Declaration is set to arrive on February 18 on Written Entertainment/eOne Music. It has already spawned the Busta Rhymes-assisted “The Woman You Love,” “That’s What We Do” with R. Kelly, and the heartfelt ballad “Never Should Have.”

In November, she released the Rick Ross-assisted single “I Got It” and has recorded a song with Beenie Man called “First Real Love.”

“It’s something for women, just being empowering. This album is something very deep,” Ashanti previously said of the project, which features production from Jerry Wonda, Detail, and Sak Pase. “I’m going places that I haven’t gone on different albums.”

I like the picture though I think the flower cheapens it a bit but Ashanti is independent now so I guess we have to take it for what its worth. Glad to see her back though.

It never made sense to me why artists would announce the delivery of a project before they actually finished it. Beyonce’s method makes the most common sense, IMO. Completely finish your project, then drop it. Or – if you HAVE to set a release date – you can set it early and not have to push it back because your project is already FINISHED.

@UhHuhHoney, sooooo, ur an artist???!!! i guess not!! so only an artist will fully understand why stuff like, pushing an not ready/unfinished album back. every artist is not a “beyonce”.. I guess that is why they all have different names and personalities… stfu!!

@prisca, as I recall it wasn’t unfinished and not ready this time last year when she said it was coming out in 2013…..

@sd, Ashanti isn’t exposing anything!!! She’s an Artist and a Woman and has the right to express however she feels… Your comment was very ignorant and sexist… Goodbye Hater!!! P.S. I’m pretty sure those who commented are going to be buying the album, including you.

@Free Spirit, I may not agree with his second statement, but his first I do. These people root and cheer, but wont send a cent her way. Its no different from the supposed Ciara and Tamar “supporters” who were saying all this BS and the albums barely passed 60,000… It just works that way with the less popular artists.

    [Reply]

    Free Spirit Reply:

@Got Damn, People want Ashanti to win and comeback harder than ever!!! I understand what you are saying and you are so right… There isn’t much support on the fanbase side, but if Ashanti had the Label Backing and Promotion that both Ciara and Tamar has had during their latest projects; Ashanti wouldn’t waste time slacking and putting on hold her album (ie: Ciara) or videos (ie: Tamar)… Ashanti is more of a hustler than those two, she makes sure she keep her name out there by doing shows and acting in “Army Wives”, “Law & Order: SVU”, and Lifetime’s “Christmas in the City” movie… But, I have faith that she will do well.

I LOVE Ashanti and I LOVE the “Braveheart” album cover!!! I cannot wait till her album comes out so I can buy 1 or 2 copies… I really want Ashanti to come out hard and strong with this album, because she is independent… But I have faith in her and I will always support her in anything she does!!! #TeamShany!!!

@King Fierce, Why are you bringing negativity to a post if you do not care??? Ashanti will always have more of anything than you ever will in life, at least she’s fulfilling her dreams… So, flop or not… In any case you are the real flop since we being honest.

@Free Spirit, Your second sentence is stupid as fuck. None of us take material possessions to the grave.

    [Reply]

    King Fierce Reply:

@Free Spirit, I’m not bringing negativity in anyway, I’m stating what will probably happen with this album(if it does indeed get released). I’m fulfilling my dreams to my dear with my degree in architecture from Virginia Tech and I applaud Ashanti for making it big, I’m even a fan. However, past history cannot be ignored. She fell off after Concrete Rose and has been struggling to come back ever since. Her last album, which I bought and still listen to, flopped also. Frankly I see her going the way of Mya and Christina Milian, you need more than just a pretty face and a sweet voice in this time of day. There is no need to personally attack me when I havnt come for you. I see you all up and through this post, put that energy into Ashanti’s promo campaign and she may have a chance.
    /-)

    Free Spirit Reply:

@King Fierce, Let’s just agree to disagree… Because if you were fulfilling your dreams, I wouldn’t down nor doubt you… I would support you and stand by your side, no matter what anybody has said… Because you are hustling and doing the best you can with the best that you could… I don’t believe in putting people down, whether people think it’s delusional or not… I would have faith in you like I have faith in her… I apologize for the name calling, it was uncalled for.

With the right Music Video and Good Promotion she can win. One more thing at least she can write her own music not like others In this music game.

    [Reply]

    prisca Reply:

@King Fierce, I can’t believe this. Really?? Beyonce is not an “original artist”. Her “video phone” video, she looks like rihanna in the intro. Beyonce has done everything and anything everyone woman bfore her has done. She’s the original “copy cat”. I just hate when other women, in music, tried to do something n people compared them/her to beyonce.

So, I assumed, in beyonce new song “drunk in love” when said, “swirling all that “good good”", oh wait, Ashanti has a song called “good good”. Is that where beyonce got it from?!?!?!?? I honestly hope people will let other female artist do their thing n stop comparing them to beyonce. Every artist is unique in his/her own way. NOT THE BEYONCE WAY!!! #imjustsayinf

    [Reply]

    King Fierce Reply:

@prisca, hey sweetheart Beyoncé shot and released Video Phone a full 3 months before Rudeboy so cut that. There is nothing original about this photoshoot. I know artists have similar styles, especially since they use the same stylists, so it’s not that big of a deal. It’s just that there is no growth when it comes to Ashanti……not since 2004. Another thing! Beyoncé has done plenty of things other female artists havnt and has had just as many accomplishments in her own right. What are Ashanti’s accomplishments? Also, Ashanti can’t copyright the term “good good” anymore than than Nelly can the term”grills” they are both slang words that have been used by people for a while now and were put into a song.

Yall kill me with this Beyoncé comparison. Not everybody in the industry is trying to be Beyoncé. Ashanti ain’t trying to be anybody but Ashanti. That’s the problem with this “stan wars” nonsense, everybody wanna attack other female artists by calling them irrelevant or flops if it isn’t their fave. On Ashanti worst day, she’ll still be a factor over whatever a hater gotta say about her…Why?? because she’s paying yall dust & all that hate won’t stop her from making her money while yall stay miserable & hating on social media.
