New Music: Jennifer Lopez – ‘First Love’

First Love

Jennifer Lopez put it down for her papi, and now the pop megastar debuts the follow-up single “First Love,” which hit iTunes today. J.Lo, who’s dated everyone from Puff Daddy to Ben Affleck, sings about her failed relationships on the radio-friendly Max Martin-produced number.

“I wish you were my first love ’cause if you were first baby, there would’ve been no second, third, or fourth love,” sings J.Lo, who’s currently dating dancer Casper Smart.

Her 10th album, potentially titled AKA or Same Girl, is due June 17 featuring contributions from Nas, Rick Ross, Pitbull, French Montana, Chris Brown, Maxwell, Diplo, and more.

“Usually I do an album in a few months, but this one’s taking me a year to really put together,” she told Rap-Up. “Because it’s my 10th album, I think it feels a little more special.”

Love it. This should have been her first single instead of I Luh a Papi. Much more radio friendly.

I like it. This is most confident I’ve been in a J.Lo album in quite some time.

@2bad2bme, At least she didn’t get dethroned by an animated film

    2bad2bme Reply:

@Major Sushi, lol she never sold more than that film nor beyonce period so that is a dethrone idiot

    Major Sushi Reply:

@2bad2bme, excuse you, but beyonce is top african american pop singer. JLo is top latina pop singer. i’m sorry if you’re not ethnically educated, but that’s okay. beyonce never graduated, anyways.

@Major Sushi, who said anything about ethnicity? Now I know I’m talking to a child… I feel dumb for replying

    Major Sushi Reply:

@2bad2bme, who said anything about being a child? if you knew about latin culture, you’d know JLo is more relevant than Beyoncé.

And I’m sorry that you feel dumb. But, hey, at least you and (couldn’t get her diploma) Beyoncé have in common :)

The lyrics are hot trash but the production, arrangement and the vocals are huge. One of the hookiest songs of her career.

It’s a little too pop for me. I love that cover though! She gets better with age in terms of her looks. Her musical peak was when she was racking up hits with Murder Inc. back in the early 00′s. “I’m Real” and “Ain’t It Funny” were my jams!

Third single in three months because “Live It Up”
(featuring Pitbull) peaked at #60 on Billboard Hot 100 “I Luh Ya Papi” (featuring French Montana) flopped at #77!
