BET Hip-Hop Awards 2015 Cyphers

  /  10.13.2015

The BET Hip-Hop Awards 2015 featured performances from superstars including Puff Daddy, Future, and T.I., and also shined a spotlight on some emerging talent during the highly-anticipated cyphers. This year’s edition didn’t disappoint as underground MCs and OGs alike went bar for bar, and fans took to Twitter to declare the winners.

With DJ Scratch on the turntables, Def Squad staged a reunion—Erick Sermon was up first, followed by Redman, and Keith Murray endorsed Hillary Clinton for president during his verse.

Tink more than held her own alongside the boys club of Charles Hamilton, Jackie Spade, and Joyner Lucas. Joined by the legendary Doug E. Fresh, Nicole Paris and Rahzel busted out a beatbox session and earned some of the loudest applause of the evening.

Casey Veggies, Vince Staples, and Raury proved why they deserved a spot on XXL‘s Freshman Class, while the cast of the Broadway musical “Hamilton”—Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs, and Black Thought—ripped the mic with some help from Questlove.

Plus, some brave MCs battled it out during a live cypher, which included T-Top, Rain, Charlie Clips, DNA, and K-Shine.
