Kanye West, Jay Z, & Frank Ocean Win 'Made in America' Lawsuit

  /  10.12.2016

Just like he said on “I Got the Keys,” Jay Z is “big pimpin’ on court steps” once again.

Jigga, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean have reason to celebrate after scoring a second win against Joel “Mac” McDonald, who claims their Watch the Throne collaboration “Made in America” borrows its concept from his 2009 song of the same name.

In September 2015, a district court dismissed the suit and on Friday (Oct. 7), a federal appeals court upheld the ruling.

“We have considered all of McDonald’s arguments and find them to be without merit,” the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled (via Pitchfork).

Hov, Yeezy, and Frank aren’t the only ones celebrating the news. Others named in the suit include Mike Dean and Shama Joseph, as well as Universal Music Group, Roc-A-Fella Records, Def Jam, and Roc Nation.
