Beyoncé and Laverne Cox are joining forces on a mysterious new project, which is set to be revealed next month.
During her appearance on “Access Hollywood Live” on Tuesday (Aug. 22), the Emmy-nominated “Orange Is the New Black” actress announced the exciting news.
“Yes it’s true,” she tweeted. “I am collaborating with @beyonce on a new project. #QueenBey herself. More details Sept. 6. #Beyonce #TransIsBeautiful.”
When asked how the project came about, Cox said she wasn’t sure. “I have no idea,” she said. “To be perfectly honest, I’m like, ‘Does she pick out her biggest fans ever and let them work with her?’ It’s pretty amazing.”
Cox went on to say that they met at the Grammys this year, following Queen Bey’s show-stopping ode to motherhood. “[Beyoncé] got up for me,” she continued. “Beyoncé stood up for me and said the loveliest things. She had seen my ‘Lip Sync Battle’ performance and knew that I was a huge fan.”
It is still unclear what Bey and Cox have up their sleeves, but Laverne is currently prepping for the Emmys, where she is nominated for Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work in “Orange Is the New Black’s” “Doctor Psycho” episode.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé is enjoying life after giving birth to her twins Sir and Rumi Carter. Just yesterday, she flaunted her post-baby body in a stunning video soundtracked by Prince’s “Kiss.”
More details regarding Cox and Bey’s mystery project will be revealed Sept. 6.
