M.I.A. takes to a Los Angeles rooftop to speak about the writing process for her new album ///Y/, her pick for the World Cup, and gets emotional when discussing an issue close to home, the Arizona immigration law, in an interview with Rockerrazzi. The “XXXO” singer, who will perform at the HARD Festival in L.A. and New York, even extends an invitation to Mexican immigrants who want to see her show.

“I wish HARD Fest was free just for Mexican people,” she said. “Everyone who’s crossed the Arizona borders are welcome at my show. I’ll make you a freakin’ passport. I got Nigerians on the phone.”
