Waka Flocka Flame joins forces with Young Money in the Benny Boom-directed video for “Get Low,” the new single off his sophomore album Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family. MTV News caught up with the Brick Squad rapper and his co-stars Nicki Minaj and Tyga on set in Atlanta last week.

“The concept for the video was a red, white, and black color scheme, and a lot of art,” explained Waka, who’s readying his new mixtape Salute Me or Shoot Me Vol. 4. “I wanted to bring hip-hop videos back—choreographing and girls dancing in it. There’s too [many] naked women dancing in videos scenes to me. I feel like I wanna put the art back into it. I feel like it’s my job to put the art and the fun back into the music.”

Tyga jumped on the song as soon as he heard it. “When he sent me the verse, I was like, ‘This is different,’ so automatically, I wanted to do it ’cause I like doing stuff that’s different,” said the Young Money MC. “Coming from Waka, people are used to hearing head-bussing, more crunk shit, so when he sent me this, I was like, ‘This is different, so I gotta do it.’ I did my verse like the next day and sent it back.”

Nicki didn’t hesitate to lend a hand. “Waka Flocka, he’s my brother,” said the blonde raptress. “People know that I go way back with him, and whatever he needs me to do, it gets done. He called me, he sent me a song, I said, ‘It’s nothing.’ I was finishing up my album, and I said, ‘You know I got you, it’s nothing.'”
